Family and Consumer Science

Family and Consumer Science (FCS) education is a driving force in leadership and support to assist individuals, families and communities in making informed decisions about their well-being, relationships and recourses to achieve optimal quality of life. PRTA currently offers two tracks within this discipline: Culinary Arts and Teacher/Training. PRTA offers the following sequence of training within the Teacher/Training Program: Teen Living, Parenting and Child Development, Early Childhood Professions and a capstone class called Educational Assistant wherein our students are placed within our Elementary programs as an unpaid internship.
